2024 Swiss Nationals – Küsnacht, Switzerland

Day 1 · Short Program
Last chance: The Swiss Nationals.
The day I’ve been waiting for so long. After Budapest I felt a lot more prepared. I knew that the door to YOG and the Junior Worlds was still open and during practice I did so well. I felt the pressure of performing as well as I can, with all my might. I wanted that 160 points and more, I really wanted to fight for the qualification.
Despite my high level of motivation, adjusting to the environment didn’t go well. Practice felt strange and it seemed I had less energy than usual.
Although I finally landed all my jumps, the short program brought out many weaknesses too. I had ambiguous feelings after seeing the scores, earning actually less than in Budapest, but I decided to focus on my Free Skate and make the most out of it.

Day 2 · Practice and Free Skate
The next day I started with a practice in the morning and I felt so much pressure. I tried to refine my jumps and spins, improving what I could even at the last minute. Then I stepped into the rink with the strong will that I will medal here and qualify too. But again, I had to realize that my body and brain sometimes just refuse to cooperate. Sitting in the Kiss&Cry with my coach we looked at the numbers. My heart got heavy. It wasn’t enough.

I left for home with gloomy thoughts. Thinking about what to change and how to change in my training because losing the chance for the Youth Olympics hit me hard. I was very sure I could do it but I failed. I needed to reflect and change course because in one thing I got really really determined. I can’t have the same problem with Milano.

I will work twice as hard and I will qualify for the Olympics no matter what.
